Local Attractions
Lake Berkley Resort is in an ideal situation in relation to the parks, night life, restaurants and shops etc.. Just a short walk from the Medieval Times dinner show attraction on highway 192, which is the main highway through Kissimmee and situated very conveniently to a 24 hour Wal-Mart store the resort is set in a quiet backdrop where you can relax, play tennis, volleyball or exercise in the clubhouse gym in complete privacy.
Restaurants, steak houses and speciality diners are in plentiful supply along H192 and cater for every taste. Even "British" pubs can be found within a five minute drive from the resort where you can dine too on the more traditional British Fish & Chips, Cornish pasties, Bangers & Mash or Ploughman's lunches.
The centre of International Drive is less than 20 minutes away where you can find even more cuisine and many designer shops in places such as Pointe Orlando, Premium Outlets, The Mercado and Prime One Factory Outlets. A word of warning though for the discerning shopper - compared to the UK the prices of designer goods in Florida are so cheap that you could spend half of your vacation shopping!! On your journey up International Drive you will pass Sea World Adventure Park which is a must for everyone travelling to Florida and before you reach Belz factory outlets you will pass Universal Studios and Universal Studios Islands of Adventure which is simply breathtaking fun for all the family and with City Walk night spot on site its a great place to be for an evenings wining and dining.
Other local activities to be found nearby are Airboat Rides, Helicopter rides, Water Skiing, Water Parks and Golf,Golf & more Golf in both miniture and 18 hole championship variety (see our golf page for further info). Old Town is only five minutes away and is well worth a visit at anytime of the day or night with its old American style shops and Restaurants combined with fun activities for the younger person.
Disney theme parks are only 10 minutes drive away from Lake Berkley and close enough to return to the villa for a break after a hard days walking and after re-charging your batteries you can take in evening activities at Disney's EPCOT center which must host one of the most spectacular firework displays in the World.
